The Peccadillo Theater Company is pleased to announce its fall production: the return of its acclaimed revival of THE LADIES OF THE CORRIDOR, written by Algonquin Round Table wit Dorothy Parker & Arnaud d’Usseau, and directed by OBIE Award-winning director Dan Wackerman (Counsellor-At-Law).

THE LADIES OF THE CORRIDOR is a sharply funny and wryly sympathetic look behind the closed doors of New York City’s Hotel Marlow. Following the death of her husband, Lulu Ames moves into the hotel and immediately embarks on a romance with a much younger man. Mildred Tynan, another resident, has walked out on an abusive husband and now finds herself drinking too much in the company of a “helpful” stranger. Grace Nichols lives down the hall. She keeps her middle-aged son tied to her apron strings with the threat of exposing a terrible secret. These women, along with several other colorful characters, cross paths in the corridor of this genteel establishment, where a skeleton is hung in every closet.

When it was presented at Bank Street Theatre in 2003, LADIES received excellent notices: The New Yorker wrote that LADIES “proves that Parker was the mistress of much more than the acid one-liner,” going on to praise the “strong…excellent” cast, as well as the “Mankiewicz flair” of Dan Wackerman’s direction. Back Stage praised the “impeccable” cast, and the Daily News wrote that, “Parker's trademark acerbic wit is evident throughout this well-acted revival by The Peccadillo Theater Company.”

The cast for LADIES will feature most of the same performers from the 2003 production, including Kelly AuCoin, Ron Badgen, Hal Blankenship, Patrick Boyd, Peggy Cowles, Jo Ann Cunningham, Dawn Evans, Libby George, Susan Jeffries, Andy Phelan, Carolyn Seiff and Susan Varon.  New to the cast is Domenica Cameron-Scorsese, daughter of author Julia Cameron and acclaimed film director Martin Scorsese.  Ms. Scorsese has appeared on film in The Age of Innocence and Midsummer, and off-Broadway in Franny’s Way (Playwrights Horizons and Geffen Playhouse), Tony –n- Tina’s Wedding and The Sweepers (Urban Stages).

Last season, The Peccadillo Theater Company presented its hit revival of Counsellor-At-Law. The production received stellar reviews, leading to sold out houses and multiple nominations and awards – 3 Outer Critics’ Circle nominations, 2 Lucille Lortel Awards, a Drama League Award nomination and an OBIE Award for director Dan Wackerman.  In addition, the company’s production of the new musical The Talk of the Town (which features Dorothy Parker as a character) has transferred to the Oak Room at the Algonquin Hotel where it is enjoying an open-ended run.

LADIES will begin previews on September 7th, continuing through October 23rd. Opening night is scheduled for September 14th.  Performances will be at the East 13th Street Theatre, 136 East 13th Street.  The schedule will be Tuesdays through Saturdays at 8pm, Saturdays at 2pm and Sundays at 3pm. Tickets will be $55, and can be purchased by calling Ticket Central at (212) 279-4200; tickets are also available online at www.ticketcentral.org.
