Performances Begin on November 4th

Superstar Unlimited is proud to announce the opening of their new rock opera, Automatic Superstar, by Bob Weidman. Performances are at Show Nightclub, 135 West 41^st St. (near the corner of 41^st St. and Broadway) in Manhattan. Doors open at 7:30 pm, show time is at 8:00 pm.

Automatic Superstar tells the story of Matic, a masked rock star whose record company is trying to kill him. Since Matic wears a mask, nobody knows who he is. Matic spearheads the free downloading movement and becomes an overnight sensation when his song Sexy Mess rockets to the top of the Internet download charts. But when his record company demands that he stop giving away the music, Matic fights back in a public display of defiance. With the future of the music industry on the line and Matic’s life spiraling out of control, he confronts the record company and his demons in a shocking and rocking conclusion.

With a creative team including consulting director Dan Fields (The Lion King, The Graduate) and video director Michael Burlingame (Sting, Paul McCartney), and a groundbreaking rock score reminiscent of The Foo Fighters, Radiohead and Rage Against the Machine, Automatic Superstar is a mind-blowing multimedia rock ‘n roll spectacle that will rock you out of your seat. Burkhard Bilger of The New Yorker said, “The music moved me to my core” and the Lance Gould of The New York Daily News said, “An exhilarating evening that channels the New York Dolls, the Who and Hedwig.”
