Bleecker
An adult night of ecdysiast entertainment,
the first ever all-moms burlesque
revue features a slew of bodacious burly-Q breeders exploring motherhood
through striptease and song. Modern-day mamas engage in a nonstop circus act,
juggling parenthood, careers and relationships. But perhaps the biggest trick
of all is finding a way to balance all of those responsibilities and one's own
self-image as a sexy, desirable, vital woman. Hot Mama Burlesque celebrates
all sides of being a mom, the upside, the downside and the backside.
The lineup of
risqué acts includes tributes to breastfeeding and bawling babies,
the secret lives of hot housewives and sexy single moms, and the joys of
being a MILF. Audience members are invited to get in on the action with campy
contests and fun giveaways including
Sittercity.com
memberships, adult toys from Babeland, World Famous Pontani Sisters DVDs and School
of Burlesque classes. Patrons are also encouraged to help mothers in
need by bringing lightly used baby and kids' clothes for donation to the Ellington
shelter for homeless women and children.*
The brainchild of bawdy
burlesque hostess (and proud parent) Raven Snook and presented
in conjunction with Mamapalooza, Hot
Mama Burlesque includes performances by Slipper Room co-owner Camillicious, Seattle siren and Wife
Swap survivor Ravenna Black,
hot and happy homemaker Fritzi Collins,
temptress Tessie Tingle, The
Incredible Edible Akynos, the gorgeous Ginger Baker
and double-D diva Allison Tilsen. Also on
hand to celebrate procreation in their own special way: sexy (but childless)
mamas Creamy Stevens and Little Brooklyn,
producers of the legendary Starshine
Burlesque.

Performer Bios:
Raven Snook: A writer, performer, diva and parent, Raven has been
emceeing New York-based burlesque shows since 2003, when she discovered that
audiences enjoyed her combination of raunchy Borsch Belt humor, Ethel Merman
vocals and Elvira clothes and cleavage. She has hosted Starshine Burlesque, Red Hots Burlesque,
Le Scandal and the
all-Jewish revue Kosher ChiXXX, which she also co-created. Other performing
highlights include: acting in the original downtown cast of Urinetown;
being typecast as a vampire on the ABC sitcom Talk to Me; appearing as a
"female female impersonator" on The Maury Povich Show; playing
a dominatrix-like self-help guru in the award-winning short film Slo-Mo,
telling stories at The Moth
and Heeb Storytelling; and her autobiographical one-woman show How I Became
a Drag Queen Trapped in a Woman's Body. As a writer, she has contributed
entertainment-related articles to Time Out, The Village Voice, The New York
Post, TV Guide, New York Magazine's Web site and Heeb Magazine. Oh
yeah, she's a mom, too, and hopes to hand down her sequin-studded pasties to
her daughter someday.
Allison Tilsen: After making her
theatrical debut at the age of 10 in Annie at the Jewish Community
Center of St. Paul, Minnesota, Allison was bitten by the theater bug and has
since pursued an illustrious show business career. After moving to New York,
she was cast as prom-date-from-hell Cha Cha DiGregorio in the national touring
company of Grease. Allison also understudied the role of Miss Lynch,
played by star Cindy Williams. She then played the role of prison matron Mama
Morton in two back-to-back national tours of Chicago. Since settling back home
in New York, Allison has acted in local theater, indie films, nightclubs and
television, including two episodes of Chappelle's Show on Comedy
Central. She's also a larger-than-life personality on the burlesque scene, and
has performed at Starshine Burlesque,
The Slipper Room,
Kosher ChiXXX, and was an original member of The Glamazons.
Camillicious: Camillicious (a.k.a. Camille Habacker) would like to
thank Miss Raven Snook for the invitation to participate in Hot Mama Burlesque.
Camille is the proud mother of Veronica and Lincoln and co-owner of The Slipper Room with
her husband, James. She hosts burlesque shows, DJs, works that go-go box and
performs as, among other things, Conchita, Fanny Frye and, most recently, Linda
Rhonda Linda, horn rock singer. She also acts in plays when her busy life
permits.
Creamy Stevens: Creamy Stevens hails
from a rusted-out bartertown and is the child of slaughterhouse workers. She
spent her formative years in a juvenile facility honing her evil powers, and
now shocks and delights audiences all over the country as a burlesque
performer. She co-produces the long-running Starshine Burlesque
with Little Brooklyn and also appears at other venues around the city. In her
leisure time, she enjoys needlepoint and crushing the dreams of the young.
Fritzi Collins: A titillating innovator of "stripping as high
art for low brows," Fritzi attracted the eye of infamous Vegas promoter
Tom Collins. After their lavish Vegas wedding, Tom, a wicked Svengali, forbade
his burlesque bride to perform. Locked behind a white picket fence deep in the
suburbs, Fritzi was severed from the stage and her adoring public. While
everyone thought she had turned her back on burlesque, the frustrated flower
orchestrated a devil's workshop of routines based on shattered romantic ideals,
with the help of a slew of unsuspecting gardeners. Fortunately, Fritzi fled the
suburbs and ran straight to New York's burlesque stages. There's nothing like
seeing her peel off that sugar coating, revealing the earthy spice that is pure
woman. Now happily remarried, Fritzi is a mom with an energetic toddler. She
performed in the 2004 and 2005 New York Burlesque Festivals with Fisherman's
Famous Burlesque and Starshine
Burlesque. She has also performed in many downtown theatrical productions
including Taylor Mac's Live Patriot Acts:
Patriots Gone Wiiiild! at P.S. 122.
Ginger Baker: Trained in myriad dance forms—from ballet to flamenco
to salsa, and everything in between—Ginger Baker was drawn to burlesque as a
way to combine her love of dance with her passion for positive sexuality. With
two kids under five, she still finds time for sassy striptease, and has
performed at The Slipper
Room, Glasslands and the Stonewall Inn thus far in 2008. She also produces her own
show on Staten Island, bringing vampy vaudeville to the Forgotten Borough once
a month with Ginger Baker's Candy Apple Burlesque.
The
Incredible, Edible, Akynos: A
one-year newbie to burlesque, The Incredible, Edible Akynos has been dancing
since childhood, competing in talent contests throughout New York City
performing her signature Janet Jackson routines. Even now, she takes diverse
dance classes (jazz, tap, hip-hop) whenever she can to help enhance her
high-energy dance stripteases. With a schedule so tight she doesn't have time
to even think of sex let alone have it, she spends her spare moments updating
her risqué adult Web site akynos.com,
so members can get their daily dose of sex from her. Also an actress, she has
been an extra in multiple movies (American Gangster and the upcoming Push)
and appeared on stage in plays that no one has really heard of, but hey—she's
done it! Akynos stands 4'11" tall with one of the juiciest booties in
burlesque and hair as big as Diana Ross'. She's performed in locations such as
a The Slipper Room, Rififi, Galapagos and Symphony Space.
Little Brooklyn: Sweet as an egg cream, thrilling as the Cyclone, and built like the Brooklyn Bridge, Little Brooklyn is a mover and shaker in New York's burlesque scene. Not only can she be seen weekly at Starshine Burlesque which she co-produces with the fabulous Creamy Stevens, she also performs regularly at New York venues such as The Slipper Room, The Cutting Room, Galapagos and exotic shows including Sideshows by the Sea Shore at Coney Island, the New York Burlesque Festival, Tease-O-Rama and Miss Exotic World, where she took home the title of first runner up. Recent travels include flying to Stockholm to join The Hootchy Kootchy Club at Sodra Teatern, teaming up with the cast at the pink door and the Heavens both in Seattle, touring Vancouver with Chaz Royal, and popping over to Connecticut to perform in New Haven's first burlesque show. Proud recipient of not one, but a trio of highly coveted golden pasties from the New York Burlesque Festival. Her acts mix classic tease with a slapstick sense of humor that really puts the "Gee-whiz!" back in G-string! Little Brooklyn: a Coney Island RedHot!
Ravenna Black: Ever since she was a little girl, Miss Ravenna Black has been
fascinated with glamour. It started like it does for many little girls: Having
been thoroughly indoctrinated by fairy tales and Disney movies, Ravenna decided
that she wanted to be a princess when she grew up. Oh sure, true love,
adventure and marrying a prince sounded grand, but what she really wanted was
the dress and tiara! Ravenna has studied burlesque dance with Miss Indigo Blue, Kitten DeVille,
Babette LaFave, Jacqueline Hyde, Tigger (Mister Exotic World 2006), Dirty Martini (Miss
Exotic World 2004), Kitten LaRue, Jo "Boobs" Whedon and burlesque veteran Dee Milo, "The Venus of
Dance." She is currently working with Milo to recreate the act which
nearly got the legend arrested in the 1950s: "I Married An Angel." A
raven-haired temptress, Ravenna boasts voluptuous curves that are sure to raise
your blood pressure and gags guaranteed to make you laugh. When you see this
petite powerhouse perform, you'll see why she's called: "The little girl
who's ALL grown up!"
Tessie Tingle: At age 5, Tessie Tingle found a book about Lili St.
Cyr in her grandmother's garage. From then on, she told everyone she met that
when she grew up, she wanted to be "a stripper." As soon as she hit
18, she went searching for the perfect burlesque venue—not realizing old-time
burlesque no longer existed. But in the '90s, as the burlesque revival raged,
Tessie hooked up with likeminded gals. She has studied with Jo Boobs and Dottie
Lux, and performed at The
Slipper Room, Galapagos, Mo Pitkin's, Pink Snow at Pornocopia, The Pussycat
Lounge for the School of Shimmy graduation show, Lucky Friday's at Lucky
Cheng's and Kitty Knights. Now based in Philadelphia, she misses New York
desperately but does her best to school the residents of the City of Brotherly
Love in burlesque. She's grateful to be performing alongside her fellow hot mamas!
